Asian Culture

Culture is different in various parts of the world. European and Asian cultures are different from each other due to their roots. Asian culture is very colourful and interesting, this is because of its long history. Festivals are a large part of Asian culture. Some Asian festivals include Eid, Chinese New Year, and Diwali. The longest festival is probably the Chinese New Year, also known as Spring Festival. The celebration of the New Year lasts two weeks. Another large part of Asian culture is clothing. There are an immense variety of dresses worn in different Asian countries. Some traditional Asian dresses include Sari, Sarong, Shalwar Kameez, Kimono, and Abaya. Language also accounts for a significant part of Asian culture. There are different languages spoken in all Asian countries, the roots of each language lie in the history of its respective country. Religion also strongly influences Asian culture. Many of the traditions and customs in Asia were developed due to different religions practiced in the country. On the site 7continents, it is mentioned that the most popular religions in Asia include "Islam, Hinduism, Taoism, Sikhism, Buddhism, and Christianity" (John, par. 10). Tea is also a huge part of Asian culture. Whether you are in China, Japan, or India traditional tea ceremonies are a part of the culture. Origami is also a part of Asian culture. Origami is the art of folding paper. On the site Kidzworld it is said that "while it is quite popular in Japan, it is believed to have originated in China in the first century AD" (par. 8). In conclusion, Asian culture is extremely diverse and its traditions lie in the history of each country.
